Susan Scarrow is the Moores Professor of Political Science and is the Chair of the Department of Political Science. Her teaching and scholarship focus primarily on issues of representation and political participation in parliamentary democracies, including political party development, comparative political finance, and the spread of direct democracy. She is co-leading a multi-national effort to establish a comparative Political Party Database, a project for which she has received funding from the National Science Foundation. She is co-editor of, and contributor to, Organizing Political Parties: Representation, Participation and Power, a book presenting the first analyses of this data, forthcoming with Oxford University Press in spring 2017.
