Richard Whitaker is Associate Professor at the University of Leicester. His research focuses on the European Parliament, the UK Parliament, and political parties and European integration. He has recently conducted the fourth European Parliament Research Group survey of Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) with Simon Hix. He is currently working on a project funded by the UK’s Economic and Social Research Council on the UK Parliament and the Brexit process. In the past he has also researched party competition on the centre-right in Britain including the relationship between the British Conservatives and the UK Independence Party.
