Trumping Title IX? The Looming Battle over the Civil Rights State

The aggressiveness of the Obama Administration put Title IX and the Office of Civil Rights in the national spotlight, and the unexpected election of Donald Trump made regulatory retrenchment a very real possibility. A growing literature on retrenchment—that is, efforts to roll back previously established government programs and policies—explains the substantial obstacles the Trump Administration will face in trying to do so. Melnick will offer his analysis and predictions of how Title IX is likely to be adapted in the Trump Administration.
