The Baxter Liberty Initiative is proud to present Dr. Gary S. Becker, winner of the 1992 Nobel Memorial Prize for Economic Sciences.  Please join Dr. Becker for a discussion on "The Worldwide Boom in Higher Education: Increased Gains from College, Rise in Women's Education, and Relative Decline in US Education."

The lecture will be held on Wednesday, March 20 from 4:15 pm to 6:00 pm in UC Berkeley's Banatao Auditorium.  Professor Enrico Moretti from Berkeley's Department of Economics will serve as the respondent for the discussion.  A reception in the Kvamme Atrium will follow from 6:00 to 7:00 pm.

The Baxter Liberty Initiative is a program in Berkeley’s Charles and Louise Travers Department of Political Science, established by UC Berkeley Foundation Trustee Frank Baxter, former CEO of Jeffries and Co. and former Ambassador to Uruguay, in 2011. Each lecture features an intellectual leader whose expertise and scholarship focuses on the ideal of freedom in political and economic life.
