Dan Clune has been the U.S. Ambassador to Laos since 2013. Prior to this posting, he was the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs for the U.S. Department of State. His other overseas postings include Australia, Peru, Indonesia, the Bahamas and the U.S. Mission to the OECD in Paris. He is a graduate of UC Berkeley’s School of Law and practiced law for ten years before joining the Foreign Service.
