Rose Gottemoeller, recent Deputy Secretary General of NATO (2016-2019), discusses New Tools for the Arms Control Future. She will speak about the fact that soon nowhere on Earth will be immune to observation by small commercial satellites with ever-improving image resolution, nighttime sensitivity and revisit times. These tools bring great promise for environmental monitoring, and opportunities as well as challenges for the warfighter. Advances in ubiquitous sensing, when combined with new options for analyzing vast amounts of data, will also provide new tools for arms control monitoring and verification.
