Ballot Measure Descriptions

Prop. 81: Library Bond
Would raise $600 million to rebuild and expand library facilities throughout the state. The proposition would raise the money by authorizing state general obligation bonds.

Prop. 82: Universal Preschool
Would raise $2.3 billion to fund a program which would provide preschool to all of California's children. The proposition would be paid for by a new tax of 1.7% on individual incomes of individuals who make above $400,000. Couples who make above $800,000 would also be taxed at the 1.7% rate.
